Who We Are
The FNSWO is a province wide, non-profit organization providing forest management, support, and advocacy to Nova Scotia’s small private woodland owners. We are community members. We are families. We are individuals. We are woodland owners. We are stewards of woodlands that care deeply about the future and sustainability of the future forest and landscape.

Certification Program
Certify your woodlot under an internationally recognized set of standards. FSC® certification does not only promote sustainable land use, it exposes you to alternative markets, and exclusive funding opportunities. Learn more to find out if this program can help you, your family, and your forests!
Networking/Resources
In joining our organizations, you’re joining a network of knowledge offered by not only us, but like-minded people who about helping landowners build healthy forests.
Know your Woodlot
Inventories, management plans, extension services, you name it! We can illustrate unique features your forest may contain and how best to manage it. Long term or short, everyone has goals, let’s get to know your woodlot together.
Outreach Programs
Join us and learn with fellow and prospective landowners on mentorship workshops and field days where you can learn the tricks of the trade from forestry professionals and landowners alike!

Our Team
We are a team made up of permanent staff as well as a volunteer board of directors. We are either landowners or forestry professionals that have been making their mark in forestry all over Canada for decades. Find out more about how we got to where we are today!
